Women in Property explores the new Sydney Fish Market

The property industry came together on Thursday 5 February for an inspiring and informative event at the newly completed Sydney Fish Market site in Pyrmont, hosted by Women in Property Sydney.

The event brought together professionals from across the property sector for an exclusive behind-the-scenes site tour of one of Sydney’s most significant waterfront developments, which officially opened earlier this year and is rapidly becoming a landmark destination on Sydney Harbour.

Attendees were guided through the market’s innovative architecture, working market operations, and public spaces, gaining insight into how this ambitious project was delivered and how it will shape the future of Sydney’s urban waterfront precinct.

Following the tour, the group enjoyed lunch at Hamsi, a vibrant new waterside restaurant by Efendy Group, where Polymer Director Andrew Coward moderated a panel discussion where key project stakeholders shared their perspectives on the Fish Market’s vision, placemaking significance, and the collaborative process behind its delivery. Speakers included Angela Bonnefin (Founder & Director, Retail Strategy Group), Susan Lee (Chief Operating Officer, Placemaking NSW), and Kate Mackarell (Founder & Director, Three Fishes Interior Design).

The event once again underscored Women in Property’s ongoing commitment to connecting and empowering women in real estate and property development, fostering professional growth, and building stronger networks across the industry.
