The Newlands: Redefining Nature in Urban Living

As cities continue to densify, restorative green space is becoming more critical than ever. At The Newlands in St Leonards, Eterno Property Group is setting a new standard by dedicating nearly half the site to immersive landscape design.

Central to this vision is the 5,700sqm green spine, designed by Arcadia Landscape Architecture. Featuring native planting, water features, garden rooms, and forest-style boardwalks, the spine draws on Cammeraygal cultural heritage while reconnecting residents with Country.

“The green spine will invite residents to experience Country,” says Michael Barnett, Director at Arcadia. “It’s a thread of landscape that brings meaning, beauty, and connection.”

With five low- to mid-rise buildings nestled into greenery and set beside Newlands Park, Eterno Managing Director Sydney Ma describes the project as “an urban oasis for people seeking a tree change without leaving the city.”

The Newlands offers a blueprint for sustainable, future-focused living—where nature sits at the heart of community.
