The Bread & Butter Project proudly graduates 100th refugee baker

Polymer pro bono client The Bread & Butter Project has celebrated its largest ever cohort of graduates – and the program’s 100th graduate overall – at its latest graduation ceremony, held at the Surry Hills headquarters of long-time corporate supporter, Canva.

Polymer team members at the event saw the trainees receive their TAFE certification and baker’s caps in front of a crowd of over 150 of The Bread & Butter Project’s staff, volunteers, donors, partners and family members.

Since The Bread & Butter Project commenced in 2013, almost all of its baker graduates have been sustainably employed and have discontinued welfare support, with the program helping to prevent social isolation, create opportunity and alleviate poverty for refugees. Polymer was proud to lead the media outreach for this significant milestone, and looks forward to many more such milestones in the coming years.
