Ground-breaking ceremony marks construction commencement at Liverpool’s tallest DA-approved residential project

Polymer is proud to share that Sydney-based property developer, FYVE, has officially marked construction commencement at its landmark project, The Liverpool by FYVE, with a ground-breaking ceremony on Monday 14 November 2022.

The ceremony was officiated by Amen Zoabi and Khalil Hafza, joint Co-Founders of FYVE, who were joined by Chris Kelly, General Manager of Binah, the project’s construction partner, and Ned Mannoun, Mayor and Mazhar Hadid, Deputy Mayor of Liverpool City Council.

Located in the heart of Liverpool’s CBD, at 26 Elizabeth Street, the Rothelowman-designed project is Liverpool’s tallest DA-approved development. At a height of 34 storeys, it is set to become a recognisable landmark for south-western Sydney.

The project will feature 193 apartments, a hotel, 6,500sqm of commercial space, and a range of ground-floor retail tenancies, establishing a new benchmark for mixed-use residential projects in the region.

Mr Zoabi said he was excited to see construction commencing on such a landmark project.

“It’s always satisfying seeing projects like this come to life. A ground-breaking ceremony is the culmination of years of planning and collaboration, so to be a part of the sod-turning is actually the realisation of a vision you’ve had growing in your mind all this time. It’s truly exciting and I can’t wait for the local community to start reaping its benefits,” he said.

Mr Zoabi also took the opportunity to announce the appointment of the much-anticipated hotel operator within the upcoming project.

“It’s also my great pleasure to announce that Punthill Apartment Hotels, a boutique Melbourne-based accommodation provider, will deliver a unique ‘serviced apartment’ style offering within the project,” said Mr Zoabi.

With hotels in 16 prime locations across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, Punthill is known for its stylish apartment accommodation, which services a broad range of travellers, including leisure, business, relocation, groups and extended stays.

At The Liverpool by FYVE, the group will offer much-needed accommodation in Liverpool’s CBD, as the city prepares to become the gateway to the $5.3 billion Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, due to open to passengers in 2026.

Uniquely, The Liverpool by FYVE’s ground floor lobby will feature three distinct entrances – for the hotel, apartment levels, and the commercial offices – ensuring privacy and ease of pedestrian movement for travellers, residents and tenants.

According to Mr Zoabi, Punthill will bring a rarely seen level of sophistication and service to The Liverpool by FYVE.

“We want to give visitors to south-west Sydney a first-class experience, so they can truly appreciate the delights this wonderful city has to offer. At The Liverpool by FYVE they will find boutique hotel accommodation mixed with unique food and beverage-oriented retail spaces on the ground floor – not to mention countless other options within minutes of the precinct.”
