Polymer clients Greenland Golden Horse, a joint venture between Greenland Australia and GH Australia, are set to launch Stage 2 of their mixed-use residential development Park Sydney, in Erskineville, in Sydney’s inner-west.
The new building, to be known as ‘Arbor’, will open for expressions of interest in late October, and will provide additional one, two and three-bedroom apartments across eight storeys, complementing the 330 apartments in completed Stage 1 buildings, ‘Botany’ and ‘Cascade’.
The name ‘Arbor’ references the jacaranda trees lining the building’s perimeter on Ashmore Street, which provide a local attraction when bursting into a blaze of purple each Spring, as well as the shape of the building, which resembles an arbor.
The project’s natural theme is further leveraged with expansive interior and exterior green spaces that soften the building’s presence in the precinct, with all apartments including floor-to-ceiling balcony doors that welcome in views of the surrounding parklands and ovals, while windows, balconies and private courtyards open up to lush treelined pathways and landscaped gardens.
Designed by Turner Architects, Arbor’s built form reflects the heritage of Erskineville’s terrace-lined streets, as well as the suburb’s cultural and industrial context, through the use of tactile brickwork, contemporary concrete and metal detailing inspired by the former Hadfields Steel Works.
Arbor’s community amenities include a rooftop terrace featuring two landscaped garden spaces designed to capture both district and city views, with outdoor dining areas, a turf lawn, and a communal veggie garden.
Meanwhile, a large music room and a dining and entertainment room for larger gatherings, will provide areas for residents to interact, in addition to the existing expansive central park and kids’ playgrounds.
Encompassing 6.9 hectares, Park Sydney is set to be one of the largest urban renewal projects in Sydney, with each of the buildings uniquely crafted to deliver high quality design set amongst extensive open space and retail amenity.
