Approval Granted for Landmark Double Bay Redevelopment

The next chapter in Double Bay’s transformation has begun, with Development Application approval officially granted for the redevelopment of the InterContinental Hotel site at 33 Cross Street.

Led by Capitel Group and Rebel Property Group, with project management by Metis Group, the $1 billion mixed-use project will deliver a new COX Architecture-designed landmark blending boutique accommodation, high-end retail and dining, premium residences, offices, and a wellness centre.

For Rebel Property Group Managing Director Allen Linz, the approval is a defining milestone.

“We welcome Council’s constructive approach. This approval reflects a shared commitment to see the village continue to evolve – creating something that enriches the community and strengthens Double Bay’s appeal as Sydney’s premier harbourside destination.”

Capitel’s Eduard Litver echoed this sentiment, noting that the site “has long been part of Double Bay’s identity, and this project allows it to play an even greater role in the community’s future.”

As the gateway to Double Bay’s future, 33 Cross Street will reinforce the suburb’s position as one of Sydney’s most desirable lifestyle destinations, continuing its evolution into a vibrant, 18-hour village where heritage and modernity meet.
